Brown Butter Snickerdoodle Cookies

Indulge in the rich flavors of brown butter combined with the classic appeal of snickerdoodle cookies. These cookies are soft, chewy, and perfectly spiced, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, browned

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • For rolling:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat


Keep cooking until the butter turns a golden brown color


Take it off the heat and let it cool down


Put the cooled browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl


Mix everything together well


The eggs and vanilla extract should be added to the bowl, and it should be mixed until it is smooth


Add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon to a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk


Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a dough forms


To make the dough easier to work with, cover it and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes


Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet


Put 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon in a small bowl


This is what you will use to roll the dough


Take one to two tablespoons of dough and shape it into a ball


Cover the dough ball with the cinnamon-sugar mix, then put it on the baking sheet that has been prepared


Follow the same steps with the rest of the dough, but leave some space between each cookie


Flatten each cookie to the thickness you want with the back of a flat-bottomed glass


After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden


After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet


Then, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down
